The Magic man 34

Last night at the Perth Motorplex whilst the majority of race teams were vigorously trying to get themselves organized for practice, one Team were already to go and were in fact on the track and ready for a push start at six. For this team it wasn’t about doing a heap of laps trying to get the maximum speed from the car. No they already knew they had the car to beat if it was to race, this car wasn’t about to race and nor was the driver.

The car was ‘The Magic Mans” yes the famous black No34 was on track ready for a start but this time it was in the hands of Michaels brother Stephen, the raw emotion could easily be seen on Stephens face, he didn’t want to be in that car. I spoke with him today about the experience and he said “No I just didn’t want to do it but dad (Frank) wanted to make sure everything was OK he is very meticulous. There was a lot of emotions at the time but once I ran a few laps I started to feel a bit easier about it”.

Whilst taking photos of Stephen as he drove around I looked across at Frank and his smile was priceless, he yelled out. “It still sounds great doesn’t it”.  I yelled back Bloody awesome Frank. That was a pretty cool moment.

As part of the Magic Man 34 Michaels first and last car will be on display and on track leading the field for the A Main salute.

Remember to get down to the pit area on Saturday night at the Motorplex and grab some merchandise from the Magic Man stall located in the first pit bay of the Speedcar parking area.
